Rosie news (22 to 26 months old):
Hi I'm Rosie. I was born on 18th February 2007 and I live in Cambridge, UK. I have big blue eyes and curly brown hair. Three days a week I go to nursery, and on the days that I don't Mummy often meets up with her twin sister and I play with my cousins Charlie and Millie. On the weekends Mummy and Daddy sometimes like to take me swimming. I love dancing, singing, painting, animals and other children and babies. You can see what I get up to on this webpage, and on my page of movie clips.
12th April. Happy Easter! God bless all my friends and family. And God bless chocolate Easter Eggs!

24th March. The day after Charlie's birthday we both went on an outing to Wimpole Farm to see the baby lambs. We also saw cows and ponies, fed goats, pretended to drive a tractor and did lots of playing in the hay. We even explored all round the house too! El brought the leftovers from Charlie's birthday tea for our yummy picnic.

21st March. This afternoon I went to my friend Thomas's birthday party, which was a perfect excuse to put on a lovely party dress and look all pretty. I played with Thomas on the soft play, and went home with a pink balloon-animal having had a great fun time. It has been lovely weather this week and I've done lots of playing outside. Mummy took a couple of movies yesterday of me playing.

14th March. Today we all went to the Cambridge Science Festival (the largest science festival in the country)!!! We had a great time doing science. I learnt how bees pollinate flowers by dressing up as a bee and finding sweets inside a big yellow flower. Mummy and I took some of the cells from our cheeks, and mixed them with chemicals and stuff so our DNA appeared as a cloudy layer in a test tube. I met Oscar the Robot again (like last year), and he gave me some sweets. We all went to lunch at a restaurant to celebrate Mummy and Daddy's anniversary on Tuesday too.
5th March. Today is world book day and so I went to nursery dressed as Peppa Pig, my favourite character from a book.

26th February. This evening Mummy, Ruth and I went to the Rainbow Nursery open evening, and Mummy got my Spring report (which you can read too if you like). While thinking about my progress, I am talking a lot now, but still struggle saying 'g's and 'l's, so it sounds like "pid" for pig and "miyee" for Millie. I can count to four on a good day (then from seven to ten), and can get most of my colours, but sometimes mix up red and green. I can now jump, and can 'sing' short phrases from songs and nursery rhymes.
24th February. Mummy and I went to TWI late this afternoon for Mummy's work quiz. Our team was called the Catastrophic Failures, and we did really well, coming second out of 17 teams just behind the TWI Library first team to win a prize of some chocolates! I didn't know many answers so I ate little pancakes and crisps that Mummy brought for me while I played, but I was very well behaved and was being rather cute, which made Mummy happy. Also on our team were Isabel (Mummy's boss), and Henryk (the TWI fracture consultant).

20th February. Because I was at nursery on my actual birthday, I invited two of my best friends over for a little party tea today. Hugo, my best friend from nursery, and cousin Charlie came to play, along with their Mummies (and Millie). Mummy made me a Humpty Dumpty birthday cake, and we all wore little hats to eat our fairy bread, crisps, biscuits and jelly. I played lots of running and chasing games with Hugo, pushing the buggy and blocks trolley (shown in a movie clip). After Hugo went home Charlie and I played hide and seek around the house. This evening Daddy has flown off to Korea for a week and we'll miss him, but he came with us to Little Quavers this morning which I really enjoyed.

18th February. My Birthday!!!! On Saturday Granny and Grandad came over, and Nana skyped us while I opened all my birthday presents. I got a dolls house, a Noah's ark, a train set, Peppa Pig dvds and several lovely books. Granny and Grandad brought a cake with a fairy on it, and I blew out the candles after everyone sang Happy Birthday to me. Then I ate the fairy. On Sunday Claudia came over and gave me a Ninky Nonk toy and we played, and on Tuesday Ruth brought me over some books for my birthday. What a lot of presents!

10th February. Today is Mummy and El's birthday so Mummy and I had breakfast in bed (brought up by Daddy), and then met up with El, Charlie and Millie at a restaurant in Sawston for lunch before having a cuppa back at their house. Mummy enjoyed a cuddle with Millie, and with me (I am cuddling my new dolly, Ruby). In the evening Dad dy and I made a birthday tea for Mummy; we have been eating lots of cake.

2nd February. Snow Day!!!! Nursery was closed today because of the snow so Mummy and I stayed home and played in the snow, and went to visit Ruth for lunch who was having a 'study day'. When Daddy came home in the middle of the afternoon we went to the playing field to make the biggest snowman ever! Here is also a picture of our footprints together.

31st January. Chris' friend Mario arrived yesterday so today we all went for an outing to Wimpole, and the Clapps had an outing there too and we met up. We had fun at the farm looking at the animals and playing in the hay bales. Unfortunately we had such fun we didn't notice that the camera was missing. Luckily after a bit of panic later, Daddy found it buried in a big pile of hay in the barn, which is why I can show you these pictures from our day!

30th January. My Godfather 'Uncle' Chris arrived last night from San Fransisco, and today Mummy and I took him birdwatching at Rainham Marshes. We had a lovely time and saw lots of finches, ducks and many other birds. Here I am looking 'through' my little binoculars over some reedbeds towards a lagoon full of seagulls, lapwings and herons (which you, and actually I, can't see). Here I am also wearing my new coat that Nana bought for me.

24th January. I have been having more adventures today (after I bumped my forehead yesterday on the slide at Funky Fun House). This morning Mummy and I did our Big Garden Birdwatch from the bedroom window. I wanted to sit on the windowsill instead of standing on the futon, and while Mummy was looking at a thrush I fell off, bashing my chin on the top of the radiator. I cut my chin open and bit my tongue on both sides, which was quite painful and resulted in lots of blood. Once Mummy calmed down a bit and had got a plaster on my chin we went to casualty, and I got three steri-strips put on my cut chin. I was much happier by the time we got to hospital and I enjoyed playing with all the toys and didn't want to go home! Later Mummy put a fun plaster on my chin to keep my wound clean and dry. I was all cheered up by the afternoon and went to the chocolate party Mummy had arranged with her friends from work.

23rd January. Today is my best friend Hugo's birthday, and to celebrate I went to the Funky Fun House along with him and his friends. I am now pretty much better from my 'chicken pox'. I have had spots all week, mainly on my back and tummy but a couple on my face, and the doctor reckoned it could be chicken pox (Mummy's not sure). The spots haven't been itchy and I've not felt poorly, but Mummy had to stay home with me this week, and I haven't seen Charlie or Baby Millie all week! We did go swimming and shopping and to feed the ducks this week though. Last Sunday (the first spotty day before I saw the doctor) was Madeline and Olivia's birthday party, they are also friends of mine from nursery. Here are some pictures from their party.

16th January. Nana flies home tomorrow so yesterday I had a special day with Nana. We played together in her room, and then went to Little Quavers to sing and play music. In the afternoon we had chocolate cake at The Orchard. Mummy and Daddy dressed up to go out to a restaurant to celebrate Daddy's birthday this week, so Nana made me my tea once I was in my pyjamas, and then after we said goodbye to Mummy and Daddy, put me to bed with a cuddle and a story.

14th January. Today is Daddy's birthday and when we got home from work and nursery Nana had made a lovely birthday tea for him, so Mummy and I put on our party dresses. There was cake, and sausages on sticks, and green jelly ponds with chocolate frogs in them.

Nana is going home in a few days, and I will miss her. Do you think if I pack myself into one of her bags that she'll take me back to Australia with her?

11th January. We went to the Old Fire Engine House restaurant in Ely for lunch, which was very yummy. Upstairs in the lounge they had toys and books for me to play with.

10th January. I have been having lots of fun with my family recently. Here are pictures of me with Mummy cuddling baby Millie at a week old; laughing with Daddy and a blue laser pen; and playing with Nana's winter hat.

8th January. I haven't been keeping you up to date with my talking, but this past week I have made lots of progress and can now say sentences up to six words long. Yesterday I said "Daddy take Nana cuppa tea toast" at breakfast time. I like to talk lots, and chatter about my friends and family, and narrate what I'm doing. I can name at least six kinds of birds (robin, duck, seagull, parrot, blackbird, magpie), and around a dozen of my little friends (mainly from nursery and Vikings).
4th January. I have got a new baby cousin! She was born on 2nd January and is called Emilia, but we call her Millie. Here I am cuddling her with Mummy and El, and here is also a photo of Tim, El and Charlie on the day Millie was born (when Mummy went over to help out).
