Our Holiday with Granny and Grandad in Colchester, July 2008.
In the middle of July we went to stay with Granny and Grandad for six days at their house in Marks Tey, near Colchester. It was nice weather most of the time, and we could sit outside in the garden. Here I am wearing the T-shirt Granny and Grandad brought me back from their recent cruise to the arctic circle (with some stickers added too). There are a couple of movies of our holiday on the movies page too.

At their house they have a little table and chairs made out of pencils, just the right size for me to sit at and eat my dinner sometimes. I also sat at the table to colour in my Peppa Pig comic, and to play blocks outside.
One hot and sunny day we went to the seaside at Clacton, and then after lunch we went to the seaside at Frinton where we all swam in the sea!

The next day was rainy, so we went to the local garden centre for afternoon tea and cake. I loved wandering round exploring, especially the water features. I also found a lovely pot to hide in!
Mummy, Daddy and I went into Colchester to go swimming at Leisure World (so no pictures), but we had a great fun time and then had lunch at a pub on the High Street, where we sat outside.

The next day we took Granny and Grandad out for morning coffee at another garden centre with big cane chairs to sit in. After more exploring and looking at fish I fell asleep in the car home and Daddy had to scoop me up and put me into my cot. Granny bought me a soft toy kangaroo with a little joey in its pouch, and I am clutching the little joey in this picture.

On the last day Mummy and Granny went to Granny's book group in Ipswich to discuss The Life of Pi, and I spent the day with Daddy and Grandad playing in the garden in the play castle, and having lunch at the local pub (where I got my first ever ice cream headache).

Grandad liked to read to me, and Granny gave me lots of cuddles and helped put me to bed in the evening. After I was asleep Mummy and Daddy could go out, once for a meal out, and once to a Cambridge Society party with Grandad too. Granny also wrote a limerick poem for me, it goes like this:
There once was a toddler called Rosie,
who could show us her nosey and toesies
in a suitcase she'd play
and there she would stay
happily trying on clothesies.
