Rosie's First Birthday 18th February 2008.

On Saturday 16th February Rosie had a birthday party tea for her family. Rosie started the afternoon playing with Charlie, or walking up and down the hall on her walker while Charlie played with Rosie's toys.

When everyone had arrived Rosie opened all her presents and cards. She got some tops to wear, a crocodile toy and frog puppet, some books, a car seat blanket, a swim float vest, a shape sorter, stickers, a skittles game and lots of cards. Charlie got a present too, a mole puppet. Rosie and Charlie then shred up the paper some of the presents were wrapped in. Thank you to everyone who gave Rosie birthday presents and cards, it was very generous, and she has been playing with all her new toys.

After presents it was time for tea. Mummy and Daddy had made a birthday cake with icing and a candle. There were also bread rolls, sausages, crisps and biscuits to eat. The dining room was decorated with a Happy Birthday foil banner and some balloons. Rosie enjoyed eating her cake very much indeed (as did everyone else!).

After the babies had their afternoon naps Granny and Grandad went home. Charlie was going to be put to bed in the spare room so El and Tim could go to a party in the evening. So after Rosie had her bath and was in her pyjamas she played with Charlie for a bit while watching In The Night Garden (after which Charlie had his bath). Both tots settled quickly and were soon fast asleep after an exciting day and with tummies full of cake.

The next day Rosie played in the ball pool for a bit, before going swimming to try out her new float jacket. Later Rosie went to the park to play on the swings as it was a sunny day and Mummy made Rosie some iced buns to take to nursery on Monday, her actual birthday.

Monday 18th February, after breakfast Rosie skyped Nana Dorothy, who wished her happy birthday before Rosie went to nursery. Rosie took some balloons as well as her birthday fairy cakes to nursery and had a fun day playing. When all the girls got home at 5pm lots more cards had arrived in the post, and Mummy brought home Nana's box of birthday pressies that arrived at her work. While Mummy and Ruth had a cup of tea and shared a little cake, Rosie unpacked her box of  presents and opened her cards (with some help) and ate the last little cake we were going to save for Daddy. Rosie also got birthday greetings left on the phone and on Mummy's mobile. Thanks to everyone who sent Rosie cards and gifts, and was thinking of her on her special day (which managed to be three fun days).
